Restarting Web Services

Last Updated: Feb 07, 2013 11:43AM MST
Need to restart your web services, but not the server?
The simplest way is to use the "Restart Web Server" feature in the Server Actions menu.

However, there is another way, if you'd rather do it from the command line.

If you are running on Ubuntu, the command to restart your web services is:

service apache2 restart

If you are running on CentOS, the command is:

service httpd restart

Likewise, if you need to simply shutdown and/or start the web service, replace "restart" with the command you wish to trigger (i.e stop or start)

How do you know which OS you are running on?
Try this:

lsb_release -irc

That will display the Operating System and release number.
