Varnish
Varnish is an HTTP accelerator designed to dramatically assist in the delivery of content to dynamic web sites.  Residing on the front side of the server, it can speed up the delivery of your content by 300 to 1000 times.


Built from the ground up and focusing exclusively on HTTP this accelerator can make a huge difference in the performance of your site.

By default, Varnish is installed on ALL new Drupal deployments for versions: 6.22, 7.8, 7.9, and 7.10

Varnish is NOT enabled by default.  To enable Varnish, follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your Drupal deployment with an admin account
  2. Click on Configuration .. then Varnish.    
  3. At the bottom of the screen you'll see a message that states: 
  4.  Using the terminal feature in the admin console... run the following command:   sudo /opt/standingcloud/local/bin/alternateVarnish

  5. Return to the Drupal (Configuration --> Varnish) screen and verify that Varnish is running by viewing the bottom of the page:
After following those steps Varnish will be up and running on your site.
