How would I scale my WordPress application?

Standing Cloud User Sep 07, 2011 04:08PM MDT

I have a WordPress Network running with Standing Cloud. It's using an instance on Amazon AWS. The instance is a small one and I was worried about how I go about scaling it up when I load more sites on to my Network. Do I use the "Upgrade" button in my Standing Cloud panel or do I use the Preview/Restore function to build a backup on to a larger instance when the need arises? What's the best way to manage this?

The best way to scale your server up or down is to use the 'Save & Shutdown' function under the server's Action tab, which will automatically backup your application. Once the server is shutdown, then you will simply need to click the 'Restore' function under the Action tab. This will lead you through the steps to selecting your latest backup, cloud provider, and new server size.

We would be extremely interested in hearing how you would prefer performing such actions. Any feedback that you're willing to share would be greatly appreciated.
